On October 20th, a Facebook page named B58 News shared a post on the social networking site featuring a picture of a news anchor shedding tears over the news of Simon Cowell's death. An image of a flower-adorned coffin was also shared online. Netizens highlighted the phrase "died today" in bold in the image shared online.

The Facebook post stated, "10 minutes ago in Chicago, very sad, 'America's Got Talent' Simon Cowell, it has been confirmed..."

According to Metro, reports of his death surfaced on October 20th, however, Cowell attended the Pride of Britain Awards 2024 on Monday night, October 21st.
